Every five years, a flotilla of 600 ships, ranging from grand- tall ships to swift - racing yachts, graces the historic canals of Amsterdam for a remarkable five-day maritime fest, SAIL Amsterdam.
History
Inaugurated back in 1975, SAIL Amsterdam proudly stands as the country's biggest public gathering and holds the title of the top free nautical celebration worldwide. The majestic voyage of Stad Amsterdam clipper, joined by an array of tall ships, naval warships, and lightning-fast yachts, began their passage from parts of Germany and the western Netherlands, all converging in Amsterdam in a dazzling opening parade.
Outlook
With expectations soaring, SAIL Amsterdam is gearing up to welcome over 1,000 vessels and nearly 2 million visitors for this extraordinary event. Anchors aweigh for a journey through time celebrating Dutch naval prowess and seafaring splendour!
